AGORA YOGA SHALA

A Shala ("home" in Sanskrit) is a sanctuary where yoga is lived, experienced, and shared, offering a space for students to connect with themselves and others and escape daily distractions.

We believe that our Yoga practice should support our lives , by contributing to our mental and physical health. A healthy practice is one that brings us more clarity and peace of mind, and that nourishes our relationship to the world and others.

Ashtanga vinyasa

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, developed in Mysore, India, is a dynamic practice that links specific postures (asanas) with breath (pranayama) and movement (vinyasa). It follows a set sequence of poses designed to build strength, flexibility, and stamina while supporting healing. Practitioners typically practice six days a week, with one rest day, but the practice can be adapted to the needs and possibilities of each.

yIN YOGA

Yin Yoga is often described as a physical practice of long-held postures. Yet its depth lies far beyond the shape of a pose. On a physical level, the practice gently stimulates connective tissues, joints, and the subtle architecture of the body, by holding poses for 3-5 minutes. But simultaneously, it regulates and educates the nervous system. Through stillness and time, we encounter patterns of holding, guarding, striving — and we learn how to soften them safely. This slow, meditative practice encourages mindfulness and invites you to turn inward and be present. While props aren’t always used, our classes offer them to support the body and create a more restorative experience. If you are looking for a soft, relaxing, and gentle practice, or want to take it easy while still practicing yoga, these classes are for you. And if you already have a more “Yang” practice, balancing it with Yin Yoga helps keep the body healthy and maintain vitality over the years, preventing burnout from overly intense workouts.
